Bedlington is a town in the English county of Northumberland, neighbouring Newcastle and Morpeth, as well as Ashington, Blyth, and Cramlington. It is best known as the namesake of the bedlington terrier dog breed, which originated in the area in around 1825 having been bred by gypsies. Bedlington grew as an industrial town, with an iron works and several coal mines. Its convenient location and good transport links now make it a popular commuter dormitory and tourist base. Popular attractions in the area include the Woodhorn Museum, Seaton Delaval Hall, the Stephenson Railway Museum, Blue Reef Aquarium Tynemouth, Great North Museum.
