Bayswater

Bayswater is a district of west London in the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington, between Charing Cross, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens. The area once belonged to the Abbey of Westminster and it was originally known as Baynard's Watering because of the quality of its springs that made it a good watering place. It is home to London's Greek Orthodox Cathedral and is a very culturally diverse area with a large number of hotels, attractive streets and garden squares and a predominance of Victorian stucco terraced houses. Queensway and Westbourne Grove are its main retail centres, which are heavily stocked with authentic ethnic restaurants and varied independent shops.

Popular attractions in the area include Whiteleys Shopping Centre, Marble Arch and Hyde Park.
