Bargrennan

Bargrennan is a small and pleasant village in the council area of Dumfries and Galloway, in the south-west of Scotland. It occupies an attractive location on the River Cree, neighbouring the town of Newton Stewart. This is a popular destination for tourists, due to its convenient location and position on the The Southern Upland Way, which makes it an ideal place for travellers to rest. Glentrool Forest, is situated to the north-east of of the town, which reaches the village from the Galloway Forest Park. It is managed by the Forestry Commission, and offers countless forest trails, campsites and picnic areas to enjoy. Loch Trool is also nearby, along with the villages of Barrhill, Challoch, Creebridge, Minnigaff, and Rowantree; and The White Cairn, which is a chambered cairn dating from the 3rd Millenium B.C.
