Banham

The village of Banham in the county of Norfolk is a picturesque place with thatched cottages, a tree lined village green, overlooked by a charming church and one of the region’s top visitor attractions, Banham Zoo. Once a centre for cider making, nationally recognised Gaymers Cider originated here when the company set up its factory in the village in the 19th century. Banham is also known to have had a thriving brick-making industry. The pretty parish church is a fine, grade 1 listed building constructed from local natural flint in the Perpendicular style and is a striking example.

Banham has ample amenities for visitors and plenty of visitor attractions, historic sites and activities here and in the surrounding area. This Norfolk village is best known by most for its zoo, which boasts many rare and endangered species, including the snow leopard and Siberian tiger. Banham Zoo occupies a 35-acre site with landscaped gardens and an incredible collection of birds of prey, big cats, penguins and insects.
