Bamburgh

Bamburgh is a large and strikingly attractive village on the east coast of England in the county of Northumberland, within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is best known for the grand and imposing Bamburgh Castle that looms over the village from a cliff above the award winning golden sandy beach, which won Blue Flag status in 2005. The Bamburgh Dunes Site of Special Scientific Interest is also located behind the beach.

This is an area that will particularly appeal to those with a sense of romance and a love of history, as there are a number of castles in the area, including Lindisfarne Castle, Chillingham Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle, and Alnwick Castle, no name only a few of those nearby.
