Babbacombe

The district of Babbacombe in the attractive county of Devon is situated adjacent to Torquay and has stunning coastal views across Lyme Bay as far as Dorset and Portland Bill. Babbacombe and its bay are a popular destination for visitors with two award winning beaches including Oddicombe that is reached by the Babbacombe Cliff Railway; one of only a few original working funicular railways still in existence today.

Babbacombe has a cliff top promenade and green high above the beach, where visitors can enjoy the majestic views as well as eateries, shops and attractions. From here, the walk leads naturally into the adjoining village of St. Marychurch with plentiful shopping, pubs, restaurants and amenities. Babbacombe has its own theatre as well as the famous Babbacombe Model Village that is popular with visitors. This outdoor model village opened in 1963 and is set in four acres with more than 400 models along with over 1,000 ft of model train track.
