Aylesbury

Aylesbury is the county town of Buckinghamshire in the South-East of England. The town is famous for its Aylesbury Duck, which has been bred since the Industrial Revolution and which features on the town's heraldic crest. The older portion of the town retains various buildings from the medieval, Georgian and Victorian periods, making it a very attractive place that is a popular subject for artists such as James Henry Govier, whose works can be viewed in the Buckinghamshire County Museum, which is located in the town at Ceely House.

Aylesbury is home to Hartwell House, a well-known Jacobean mansion and popular tourist attraction that was the residence of Louis XVIII during his exile in 1810–1814. Louis's wife, Marie Josephine of Savoy died at the house in 1810 and is buried in its churchyard. Other attractions in the area include the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, Wycombe Abbey, Hartwell House, and The King's Head Inn.
