Ashton-On-Ribble

Ashton-on-Ribble is a suburb of Preston, Lancashire in the North East of England. The name is known to be derived from the family name of Estun and is recorded in the Domesday Book. Ashton-on-Ribble is rich in the typical heritage of Lancashire and is an excellent vantage point from which to explore the region, with excellent transport links and plenty to see and do in Preston as a whole. Ashton-on Ribble features the Ribble Link, which was built in 2002 and is the first inland waterway to be created in more than 100 years. Visitors to the area might also enjoy Ashton Park, which is a large recreational ground with various sports pitches including two bowling greens, children's play areas and is home to Ashton House, a large country house currently being used as a nursery school.
