Arrochar is a scenic village in the Scottish council area of Argyll and Bute. It is situated near the head of Loch Long, in the western Lowlands, and is overlooked by a well-known group of mountains called the Arrochar Alps, with the rocky summit of The Cobbler just behind the village itself. Arrochar was once a prime target for Viking raiders who would bring their boats inland to attack the vulnerable settlements at Loch Lomond. The village is now a popular tourist spot and so offers excellent travel links with plenty to do and to explore in the local area.
Popular attractions in the area include Ben Lomond, the islands of Bucinch & Ceardach, Hill House, Benmore Botanic Garden, Kilchurn Castle, and Denny Ship Model Experiment Tank , to name only a handful.
