Anglesey

The island and county of Anglesey lies off the northwest coast of Wales, connected to the mainland by the two bridges that span the Menai Strait; the original Menai Suspension Bridge from 1826 and the more recent Britannia Bridge. There has long been human settlement here and archaeologists have discovered numerous megalithic monuments here including Plas Newydd, one of 28 cromlechs that remain on uplands overlooking the sea.
