Adlington

Situated in the North West of England not far from Bolton, Adlington in Lancashire is a small town that grew from its parent town of Chorley during the Industrial Revolution owing to its involvement in the textile and coal mining industry. Although very small in itself, Adlington is one of many excellent typically Lancastrian towns in the area that is very pleasant to visit, with a wealth of historical significance dating from the Anglo-Saxon era. The town is very typical of rural Lancashire and features a very attractive canal, which is popular among barge enthusiasts. There are also a large number of walking routes and traditional pub restaurants in the area.
